Spirit Walkers

By Deborah Hall-Branch

I was so blessed and encouraged by the article Darlene Osborne wrote titled “Has the Devil Told You to Surrender?” Sounds like the birthing of a book. Her article inspired me to share with the readers something God spoke to me about last year on the subject of “Spirit Walkers.” I’ve heard some say that you can’t walk in the spirit all the time which could cause Galatians 5:16-18 to be a controversial subject for those who study the Word of God just as a platform to produce philosophical confusion. Yet, when we make decisions not led or inspired by the Holy Spirit, immediately justification exemplifies itself. In the spirit realm, the Holy Spirit acts as a circuit breaker. When we’re overloaded with our own desired will, He shuts down as a way of notifying us there’s a problem on the line. Something is over-running the power that is supposed to be in each born-again believer. Prophetically, God continued to reveal that the overload is our will. Galatians 5:16 says, “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” That’s supposed to be 365 days of the year around the clock. The devil, Lucifer, Satan, Beelzebub, whatever name he’s identified as, never gives up. He’s relentless. Day and night he roams seeking whom he may devour, but as born-again “Spirit Walkers,” thank God that the power within us even while we’re asleep, never shuts down. The natural man rest, but the spirit is ever alive. Like the circuit breaker continues to operate in our homes at night when we’re all snug and cozy in our beds that’s how the Holy Spirit function in the temples of God.

Yes! Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. And St. John 14:17 says, “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye (Spirit Walker) know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” We’re not in a common-law relationship, but legally married to the bridegroom Jesus Christ, accepted by the Father, bonded by Salvation, and sealed with Galatians 5:16-18 as a promise and dowry if obeyed. In the natural, it gratifies the husband as the head of his household to make a Godly decision and the results work towards the good of his family. That simply mean the decision has been received by agreement. How can two walk together except they agree? When a spirit-led decision is made in any aspect of our lives, we have no other choice but see Him in it because it always work for the good and prospers.

In 1984, Japan created a cartoon called the “Transformers” which now has been revived. These robotic warriors when time for battle would transform into all types of artillery usage. The good guys were called “Autobots.” While the evil ones “Decepticons.” Jesus Christ, a “Spirit Walker” Himself here on earth, knew every spirit whether it was of the Father or not. The Decepticons (spiritual wickedness in high places) goal was to gain the energy in order to build up their planet. They were deceitful and cunning. That’s Satan and his army. They come to deceive the spirit-led into fulfilling the desires of the flesh in hopes of relinquishing them of their power. The ones, who allow the Holy Spirit to lead them, are the Autobots. Automatically, day and night walking in the Spirit prepared always for spiritual warfare whether with the devil or the war between the flesh and the Spirit.

“We don’t have to surrender and fall prey to the devil.” “You have been given power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy.”  But know this to, “It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profieth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63)
